Office wear, metallic, quilted blanket coats and over the knee boots were some, to a name a few, of the trends which graced the catwalk of the Autumn / Winter 2017 collections. These new exciting trends gave us happy shoppers some outfit inspiration to scour the high street looking to get some high street look-a-likes.
Autumn / Winter are my favourite fashion seasons and it’s always so exciting to find new key pieces to purchase and mix them with existing pieces to create a new outfit. However, one trend which I always find myself reaching for at this time of year is leopard print.
Glamorous and timeless, leopard print has stood the test of time, evolving to become a staple piece of clothing in many fashion forward wardrobes. It is a trend which has become easy to wear and there are a number of ways to incorporate leopard print into an outfit.
I usually incorporate leopard print into my wardrobe with ballet pumps, a scarf, or a blouse. However, there are alternatives such as the leopard print body con dress or trousers (not for the faint hearted). Generally, I tend to avoid these later items as they veer into fashion faux pas territory for me and are harder to wear.
My “go-to” colour with leopard print is black. A leopard print blouse with black jeans and over the knee black boots will have you ticking a lot of fashion trend boxes for Autumn / Winter 2017. Styling a blouse and jeans can be quite simple. By tucking in half of the shirt and adding a belt, this can transform an outfit. Gold jewellery can complement a leopard print blouse and I usually opt for smaller, daintier pieces which I wear on a day-to day basis anyway. An all-black outfit with either leopard print ballet pumps, a scarf, or a coat will also work.
The blouse, jeans, and boots pictured above are all from Zara. As you may know, I am a self-confessed Zara addict. My blouse (€29.95) is a recent purchase from Zara and it has a black lace detailing along the back across the shoulders which gives it a certain uniqueness. My over the knee black suede boots are also from Zara (last season) however they have many alternatives in stock at the moment which I have included details of below. I always buy a couple of pairs of black jeans coming into winter and Zara’s jeans are reasonably priced. There is nothing worse than when a pair of black jeans emerge after a couple of washes with a grey tinge. I also paired this outfit with a long beige wool waistcoat.
Working in an office on a full-time basis I am always on the lookout for items that can be worn during the day and into the evening and this leopard print blouse is definitely one of those items. This blouse can easily be worn tucked into a smart pair of black trousers or a black pencil skirt.
For all the leopard print lovers out there, I have included some items below;
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
